Export DXF

Exchange electrical symbols, labels, and wiring with CAD software.

With DXF export, you place the electrical situation plan from Condui back into the original CAD drawing. All floors from the same imported DWG or DXF return to their original positions.

When is DXF export available?

DXF export is unlocked for a signed-in account with an active Premium subscription. The project must contain a floor plan imported from DWG or DXF.

What gets exported?

Condui creates one DXF file with only the electrical situation plan. The original drawing is not included. The content is divided across three CAD layers:

  • CONDUI_SYMBOLS for electrical symbols;
  • CONDUI_LABELS for text and labels;
  • CONDUI_WIRING for cable routes, when you include them in the export.

Choose :ui-icon[more-actions] Menu > :ui-icon[export-dxf] Export DXF, decide whether to include cable routes, and download the file.

Using in AutoCAD

  1. Open the exported DXF file in AutoCAD.
  2. Select the desired CONDUI_ layers and use COPYBASE with 0,0 as the base point.
  3. Open the original DWG and use PASTEORIG to place the objects at their original coordinates.
  4. Then show, hide, or remove the layers for symbols, labels, and wiring separately.

The overlay uses the same coordinates and units as the imported CAD drawing. Do not move or scale the objects during the transfer.
