Export panel labels
Create accurate label strips for distribution boards and terminal strips.
Use :ui-icon[export-labels] Export panel labels to create printable labels for your distribution boards and cabinets. The export follows the :ui-icon[canvas-panel] panel view, so the labels match the physical cabinet.
Also available as video
Arrange the panel
Open :ui-icon[canvas-panel] Panel view for every panel you want to export. Place and arrange the modules on the correct row. If needed, use :ui-icon[auto-arrange] Auto arrange as a starting point, then check the layout yourself.
If Condui detects that a selected panel has not been arranged sufficiently, a clear warning appears at the top. Arrange the panel first. Without that step, Condui cannot create reliable label strips.
Then open :ui-icon[panel-label-mode] Label mode to choose the content for the top and bottom strip of each module. You can open the export directly from that mode with :ui-icon[print-labels] Export panel labels.
Set up an export
- Under :ui-icon[panel-selector] Include panels, select the panels for which you want labels. Terminal strips and any secondary panels can be selected separately. Secondary panels are disabled while Terminal strips is off.
Brother label printer support
With Brother LBX, Condui creates an .LBX file instead of a PDF. LBX is the file format used by Brother P-touch Editor. Condui supports these Brother printers:
| Printer | Condui tape options | Default mode |
|---|---|---|
| PT-P900 / PT-P950 | 12, 18, 24 or 36 mm | Single strip |
| PT-E920BT | 12, 18, 24 or 36 mm | Single strip |
| PT-P910BT | 12, 18, 24 or 36 mm | Single strip |
| PT-E800W | 12, 18, 24 or 36 mm | Single strip |
| PT-D800W | 12, 18, 24 or 36 mm | Single strip |
| QL-810W | 12, 29, 38 or 50 mm | Sheets |
| QL-820NWB | 12, 29, 38 or 50 mm | Sheets |
PT models default to 36 mm; QL models default to 29 mm. The available tape options depend on the selected printer.
For Brother LBX, choose Single or Double, and choose how the rows should be placed on the tape:
Sheets
This puts each label strip in a separate sheet inside one LBX file. Choose it when you want to check or print each row separately in Brother P-touch Editor on a computer. The Brother Pro Label Tool app does not support multiple sheets in one file and can only show or process sheet 1.
Single strip
This combines the selected rows into one continuous strip of up to about one metre per LBX file, which is the printer limit. If the total is longer, Condui downloads a ZIP file containing multiple LBX files. Short spacer sections with scissor marks are placed between the rows. This is the right choice for the Brother Pro Label Tool app on a smartphone.
Preview and export
Click :ui-icon[export-labels] Preview to view all generated pages in the dialog. Use the zoom controls in the preview bar. Click Preview again to hide the preview. When you change a setting, an open preview is rebuilt automatically.
Click Export to download the PDF or Brother file. For Brother LBX, a ZIP file is downloaded when the export contains multiple LBX files.
What appears on the label strips?
- With Single, the export uses the bottom label strip. With Double, the top and bottom strips are exported separately.
- Empty module positions remain visible, so the physical layout stays clear.
- Completely empty rows are not printed unless you choose to include them.
- Each strip identifies the panel, its row from the top and its dimensions in millimetres.
- Light guide lines show the division every two modules.
- Brother LBX files include the cut spacers and scissor marks. The printer driver and P-touch Editor ultimately determine how the tape is physically cut.
