Using templates
Reusable starting points for new projects.
:ui-icon[templates] What is a template?
A template is a reusable starting point for new projects. Use one for a recurring basis, such as a standard installation, a frequently used panel, or a fixed project structure.
Templates are available with paid subscriptions only.
:ui-icon[create-project] Create a template
You can create a template in two ways:
- Start a new project and select :ui-icon[templates] Create template at the bottom.
or
- On the project overview, scroll to the :ui-icon[templates] Templates section and click :ui-icon[create-project] Create template.
You can then edit and open a template like a normal project. Keep it general and avoid too much project-specific information, such as floor plans. An installation address and other project details are not relevant to a template. Condui leaves them out and replaces them when you start a project from a template.
Start a new project from a template
- Create at least one template.
- Start a :ui-icon[create-project] New project and change the dropdown at the top from an empty project to your chosen template.
- Enter the remaining project details and create the project.
Alternatively, in the :ui-icon[templates] Templates section of the project overview, click Use to start a project with that template.
:ui-icon[team-access] Templates in a team
A team template belongs to the team rather than to one person. It gives everyone in the team the same basis for new team projects. Use it, for example, for a fixed layout, standard protections, or a recurring installation approach.
Team members with the right access can open a team template and create a project from it. Anyone allowed to edit the template changes the shared basis for future projects. Earlier projects that used the template are not changed.
