One-wire view
Build the electrical hierarchy that drives validation, plan placement, panel layout, tally, and export.
The one-wire view is where you describe the electrical structure of the installation. It is the source for circuits, endpoints, protections, panel relationships, and much of the data that appears elsewhere.
What You Create Here
| Object | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Panels | Define distribution boards and supply relationships. |
| Protections | Represent breakers, RCDs, fuses, and other protective devices. |
| Circuits | Group endpoints and carry cable/protection metadata. |
| Endpoints | Represent outlets, lights, switches, appliances, and other final points. |
| Wires | Carry visible wiring relationships and editable electrical metadata. |
| Notes and frames | Improve readability without changing electrical topology. |
View Concepts
| Concept | Description |
|---|---|
| Supply frame | Overview of the sources, devices, earthing, and one or two busbars that supply a main panel. |
Tools
One-wire tools are focused on schematic structure. They help you add objects, connect them, duplicate repeated parts, and keep labels readable.
| Tool or action | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Library and add picker | Add panels, protections, circuits, endpoints, notes, trunk devices, and frames. |
| Drag and drop | Move objects inside the hierarchy or place symbols from the library. |
| Context actions | Duplicate endpoints or protections and move items to another panel or floor. |
| Wire selection | Edit connection metadata in properties. |
| :ui-icon[install-date] Installation date | Mark one-wire items by installation or change date. |
Label circuits
Condui can automatically manage circuit labels as A, B, C, and so on. You can also customize one label while the rest remain automatic. Read Automatic circuit labels for the complete workflow, warnings, and reset options.
Use properties for exact values
The view is best for structure. Use the properties panel for cable, protection, circuit, endpoint, note, and wire details.
Typical Workflow
- Add or select a panel.
- Add protections and circuits below it.
- Add endpoints from the library or add-element picker.
- Use drag and drop or context actions to move, duplicate, or reorganize objects.
- Select objects or wires and edit details in properties.
- Use quick placer to place endpoints on the plan.
Focus screenshots on circuit detail
The reproducible screenshot set includes a landscape one-wire detail capture focused on the first circuits. Use that asset for docs and lessons when the full view is too broad.
