Invite external partners

Let subcontractors and other outsiders edit team projects.

With external partners, a team gives people outside the team edit access to team projects, for example subcontractors. A partner does not need a paid plan of their own. The project stays with the team.

Only a team owner or admin can invite, view and remove partners. Team editors and viewers do not see this feature.

How many partner projects does your team have?

Each new combination of a partner and a project uses one partner project.

  • Your team gets 10 partner projects per paid user per month. With two users that is 20.
  • The number is shared by the whole team.
  • Unused partner projects do not carry over to the next month.
  • A partner project is used as soon as you give access or send the invite.
  • If you withdraw an invite that has not been used yet, you get the partner project back. Access you revoke later does not give it back.

Add a partner to a team project

  1. Open the team project.
  2. Click :ui-icon[share] Share project at the top and choose the Sharing tab.
  3. Under External partners, type the email address and click Add.

If the partner already has a Condui account, they can edit the project right away and receive an email. Without an account, the partner receives an invite to create one. Access starts once the email address is confirmed.

Let a partner create a team project

  1. Click Account at the top right of the editor and choose Account settings.
  2. In the left navigation, choose Team > External partners.
  3. Enter the email address and click Invite.

Each invite lets the partner create one project for your team. The partner's home page shows a notice with Create project. The new project belongs to your team. The partner's own projects stay separate.

Revoke access

  • For one project: open :ui-icon[share] Share project > Sharing and remove the partner under External partners.
  • For all team projects: open Team > External partners and click Revoke next to the partner.

The projects stay with your team. Team > External partners shows how many projects each partner can access.

What a partner can do

A partner edits only the projects they were given access to. A partner is not a team member: team preferences, the team library and other team projects stay hidden. If the team subscription is not active, a partner cannot edit.
