Place and move symbols on the situation plan

Place or move symbols on the situation plan, manually or with Quick Placer.

Every symbol that belongs on the plan automatically gets a placement on the situation plan in Condui. You do not need to add the symbol again. This means that if you create the one-wire diagram first, the situation plan is filled with symbols that are not yet in the correct position. You can position them manually or with Quick Placer.

Place and move manually

  1. Make sure a :ui-icon[canvas-plan] Situation plan view is open.
  2. Choose the correct active floor with :ui-icon[floor] Select floor.
  3. Select the symbol (you can also do this in the one-wire view) and drag it to the correct position on the floor plan.
  4. Press R to rotate the selected symbols 90° clockwise.
  5. If needed, use the arrow keys to position the symbols precisely.

Sockets and distribution panels automatically orient to a nearby wall as long as you have not adjusted their rotation yourself. Once you press R for a placement, that manual rotation is retained and automatic rotation stops for that placement.

New symbols

When the one-wire diagram and situation plan are open side by side, a symbol that you place on the one-wire diagram immediately appears in the center of the situation plan instead of at the standard position. You can therefore position symbols correctly in the one-wire diagram and situation plan right away.

Move a symbol to another floor

Select one or more symbols. Open the right-click menu. On a touch device, use a double tap.

  1. Choose Move to floor....
  2. Choose the destination floor.

Use the keys 1 through 9 to activate the first nine floors quickly in their listed order. This avoids opening :ui-icon[floor] Select floor for an ordinary floor switch. The shortcut does not work while you are typing in an input field. To move a symbol to another floor, continue to use Move to floor... or Quick Placer.

Place symbols with Quick Placer

Quick Placer is an efficient way to place symbols on the situation plan. It shows symbols grouped by circuit and by branch on that circuit.

Open Quick Placer with the :ui-icon[quick-placer] button in the situation-plan toolbar. You can also press Q while the pointer is over the situation plan.

:ui-icon[quick-placer-slow] Slow

In Slow, you deliberately choose which existing symbol to move:

  1. Choose the correct circuit on the left.
  2. Find the endpoint's symbol card.
  3. Drag the card to the correct position on the active floor.
  4. Repeat for the remaining symbols.

This mode is useful when you do not want to follow the circuit's fixed order.

:ui-icon[quick-placer-fast] Fast

In Fast, Quick Placer shows one placement as Current and advances to the next placement in the sequence after each action:

  • Left-click the situation plan to place Current there.
  • Right-click to skip Current without moving it.
  • Use 1 through 9 to switch the active floor during the sequence.
  • Press Esc to leave Fast mode and return to Slow.

When placed, the symbol receives the active floor and the clicked position.

Automatically skip custom placements

Automatically skip custom placements is enabled by default. A placement is considered custom as soon as its position has previously been changed.

With this option enabled, the fast sequence includes only placements that have not yet been moved manually. Custom symbols remain in the Quick Placer panel but do not automatically become Current. Disable the option when you also want the fast sequence to include placements that were positioned earlier.
