Using the Symbol Library

Symbols, favorites, and valid placement.

:ui-icon[library] The Symbol Library adapts its content to the view in the active viewport. The :ui-icon[canvas-eendraad] one-wire diagram, :ui-icon[canvas-plan] situation plan, and :ui-icon[canvas-panel] panel view therefore do not show the same components.

Find and place a symbol

1. Click :ui-icon[library] Symbol Library in the left dock. Use Ctrl/Cmd + L if the panel is hidden.
2. First click the viewport in which you want to work so that the correct view is active.
3. Enter a name in Search or expand a category.
4. Choose All, Recent, or Favorites to narrow the list.
5. Drag the symbol to a valid position on the active view.
6. Select the new object and enter the required values in Properties on the right.

Click Add to favorites next to frequently used symbols to find them under Favorites.

A symbol does not appear or cannot be placed

• Check that the correct viewport is active. A one-wire module does not necessarily appear in the panel library.
• Clear the search text and open the complete category.
• Drag onto the intended target object, such as a protection or circuit, rather than only onto an empty area.
• Use the add action on the selected object when dragging does not find a valid position.
• For AC/DC components, check that the target segment matches electrically.

Search for the electrical component

Search, for example, for circuit breaker, socket, light point, inverter, or distribution panel. The exact project name or a label entered later is not a library category.
