Draw walls and openings
Walls, rectangles, doors, windows, and stairs.
Use draw mode to create a simple plan or to clarify or trace an imported floor plan.

Start draw mode
- Set a viewport to :ui-icon[canvas-plan] Situation Plan.
- Use :ui-icon[floor] Select floor to choose the floor on which you want to draw.
- If needed, enable :ui-icon[grid] Show Grid and snapping.
- Click :ui-icon[draw-mode] Draw mode in the plan toolbar.
- Choose the tool you want.
| Tool | How to use it |
|---|---|
| :ui-icon[draw-wall] Draw wall | Click the start point and then each following corner. Finish the sequence by clicking the start point, pressing Enter, or right-clicking. |
| :ui-icon[draw-wall] Draw curved wall | Click and drag without releasing. You drag a control point for the curved wall. Then click to finish the curve. |
| :ui-icon[draw-rectangle] Rectangle | Drag or click the two opposite corners of a rectangular room. |
| :ui-icon[insert-point] Insert point | Click an existing wall and move the new point to refine the shape. |
| :ui-icon[clip-wall] Clip wall | Use this on crossing or overlapping walls that must be split. The red dashed line shows what will be removed. |
| :ui-icon[insert-door] Door or :ui-icon[insert-window] Window | Click the wall in which the opening should appear. Drag to set the width and swing direction of doors immediately. |
| :ui-icon[stairs] Stairs | Place the stairs like a wall, or create a spiral staircase with a single point and then Enter or a double-click. |

Stop a tool
You can drop any tool, or stop using it, with the right mouse button or Escape.
Make adjustments
You can adjust or remove any element drawn in draw mode afterward.

| Move points | Select the wall or rectangle. Then select a point. Drag it or use the blue arrows. |
| Move elements | Select the element. Drag it or use the blue arrows. |
| Remove elements | Select an element. Press Delete, or use the right-click or double-tap menu and choose Delete. |
| Adjust properties | Select an element. Where available, you can adjust options in the Properties panel on the right. |

Exit draw mode by clicking :ui-icon[exit-draw-mode] Exit draw mode at the top or by pressing Escape.
Problems?
If you cannot draw anything, check that Draw mode is active, the correct floor is selected, and no dialog or quick-placement mode is still open.
