Import a floor plan
Bring a plan image or PDF into Condui, assign it to a floor, crop it, and set a usable scale.
Use this workflow when you already have a plan reference. The goal is not just to display the image. The goal is to make the plan useful for placing symbols and measuring distances.
Import Options
| Source | Use it when | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Image upload | You have a PNG, JPG, or similar plan image. | The image becomes a floor background. |
| PDF import | You have a plan PDF or multiple PDF pages. | You can select pages, crop, and assign each result to a floor. |
| Drag and drop | You are already in the plan canvas. | The dropped file starts the same import flow. |
Basic Steps
- Switch a viewport to the plan canvas.
- Open the upload floor plan tool or drop the file onto the plan area.
- For PDFs, choose the page and crop area you want to use.
- Assign the result to a new floor or replace an existing floor background.
- Place the reference line on a known distance.
- Enter the real-world distance and confirm scale.
- Adjust background position, opacity, grid, and visibility controls.
Set scale before detailed placement
You can skip scale temporarily, but endpoint placement and visual review are easier when the plan already matches real-world distances.
After Import
Once the background is usable, continue with:
- Draw a floor plan if the building geometry needs editable walls and openings.
- Quick placer if the one-wire endpoints are ready to place.
- Plan canvas if you need tool-by-tool details.
